CONSERVATIVES ONLY: Should My Family Take A Stand Against The Illegals...?

Our family has a rather large property. There are a few illegals that we've hired to do some landscaping and other menial jobs that the Liberals now think they are too good for all of a sudden. So, anyway, we pay them like just enough to cop a burger after work and take a few dollars home--wherever that may be. Should my father just fire them rather than taking advantage of his not having to pay them a living wage? The only problem with firing them is that they work much harder than the average Lib that we had on staff before.

They are here now and they keep my toilets really clean and are champions at giving me drink refills when I eat out, but its time to close the gates we have enough of the pack mules now.

I would not fire them. I used to own a business in Orlando, FL would put advertisements in the paper, kept all resumes' of qualified applicants, etc. The problem the job required heavy lifting so all I ended up hiring was illegal hispanic workers. I was not racist did not discriminate even was willing to hire former convicts on a case by case basis. No one wanted to work outside doing heavy lifting it did not matter how much it paid. They would rather sit at home and collect welfare than have to work at a difficult job. Until our unemployment rate is zero I say let them in under a worker program. However, I still think we should seal the border and know exactly who is in the country. Go through the projects in the mid afternoon you will see many quailified day labors not working just standing around collecting government money.

Geez Kim, I love all your questions, but you sound a bit heartless here.

I have often helped people who needed money. I hired people who were down on their luck, and paid them a good wage, not what I could get away with paying.

If these people are hard working, then they don't deserve to be exploited. You may kid yourself that you are helping them out, but you are being far less than magnanimous by paying them enough only to survive. Imagine yourself in their situation. You are in a foreign country, you are struggling to learn the language, you can't even keep your money safe in a bank because you don't have proper documentation. Life is perilous.

Then some guy acts like he's doing you a huge favor by letting you work your hands raw for a couple of bucks.

C'mon Kim, I've seen your other questions. You are better than this.

And the hypocrite comes out in you. You claim to be conservative yet your daddy hired illegals to do the yard work. Fire the illegals and hire legal residents and citizens. Or better yet, get out there and mow the lawn yourself if you're not too good to do it and libs are so lazy. I'm sure you would do a much better job.

Being that I am very much against illegal immigration should I report your father for illegally employing illegal aliens? I mean I really should, shouldn't I.

I don't agree with hiring illegals. The practice is part of the reason we are in such dire-straights.

Some one above said "hire some high-school kids" good idea. Most work hard, and are happy to get paid.

I would like to see more people pay workers legal wages.

I'm sorry I didn't read your whole question BUT I would think that the word "illegal" would be enough to take a stand against them. I have no problems with legals in this country but when they come here illegally, they are stealing and they are criminal in every way.

I think you really need to hang on to them. Good grief, even with the increase of minimum wage, you'll never find a lib who is willing to work as hard as they do (which is why they're here). Wait until welfare is revamped and some of these people HAVE to find jobs. But do keep in mind, when the illegals are replaced, you'll probably need three bodies to replace one. Also, they'll probably form a union.

Every American should abide by the laws of the land. I know a lot of "legal" immigrants who are hard workers, but I also know a lot of "conservatives" and "liberals" that are hard workers too. Together we are the "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA"!!

This is America, ma'am. Your father should do as he can that is best profitable to him. If he can take advantage of some **** that walks across the border illegally looking for work, then by all means, he should. Tell those liberals to go drink some koolaide and go the hell to Canada.
