what grade would i have to receive on the final to raise the 87% into a 90%

If it was worth 50% of the mark you'd have to get a 93 but its worth less than half that. If you get 100% on the exam you would end up with 89.6 not 90. If they round up you will still need 100%. Good luck!

Well that 87% accounts for 80% of your grade which means in total you have 69.6 and you have the chance of earning 20 more. Which means if you get a perfect on the final you will get 89.6% for the class and if your lucky they might round it to 90%. Its gonna be pretty hard to get to 90%, good luck.

87 x .8 + Final Exam Grade x .2 = 90
Final Exam Grade must be 102%
100% will give you a grade of 89.6%
(Try for bonus credit!)

i would try to get an 100 cuz thats the best but , i'd say at least a 93/94..

0.90 = 0.80(0.87) + 0.20x

0.90 = 0.696 + 0.20x

0.20x = 0.204

x = 1.02 or 102%

I suspect if you ace (100%) the final, your teacher will give you the 2 points.
