What do the black lines mean on this map?
Red dots= active volcanoes
yellow= the plates

They're continental plates (plate tectonics). See how it says "Nazca Plate" and "Pacific Plate"? The meeting of the Eurasian Plate & Indo-Australian Plate are what caused the title wave in Indonesia a couple years ago.

Depends on how it's used and the type of map. It might be a footpath, trail, or dirt road, but probably more commonly it's used to show a disputed boundary, like between countries that haven't quite figured out the border or when one country has declared independence but hasn't gained international recognition yet.

The black lines mark the plate boundaries. The yellow marks where dry land is, not where the plates are.

Yello is not the plates, but land. The black lines show the plates.

looks like crack(fault lines) where there is a chance that they may go over or under each other and cause tsunamis or earthquakes--the earth ain't getting any younger.
