The McCanns are not good parents! Why would you leave your 3 small children unattended in a foreign country. How stupid can they be. It was a terrible thing that happened to that poor little girl but there are several children kidnapped everyday. The media just gets ahold of one story and drags it on. What about all the other children that are missing. Let's help them too!

It keeps the case very high profile, a meeting with the pope will be reported everywhere and so get lots more publicity for the case. In practical terms, I don't see how else the Pope is going to help.

Well I suppose it keeps the publicity going but the whole thing is becoming bizarre. World wide publicity 2.5 million pounds on offer as reward and as far as we know there has been no real progression in the case since day one. I'm afraid I think she is dead and her body has not been found due the the Portuguese police restricted search efforts.

I also think it's ridiculous; too many families have been through the same disaster all over the world but never received any attention. So the PR of the case itself seems to me a bit weird. May be I don't get something.

what can they possibly gain from a man, who when he was a Cardinal hid wanted/known paedophiles within his organisation?
stupid waste of time for them but probably an opportunity for some good spin for him.
