In parts of TX the garbage man did run, but no indeed, the mail did not. It is a Federal (National Holiday), hence no government services, i.e. banking, mail, etc. Simply do a little research, or better yet, you can become a veteran of war and understand how the holidays and your country runs, or should run (please do not ask me about Bush, LOL).

It's a federal holiday, so no.
Trash companies do not have to observe federal holidays.
