Bush is threatning to VETO a bill that holds price gougers accountable...I read through them. Although they say they can not define price gougers...should he not work with congress to get the price gougers?

I have not seen the bill so my opinion is threw clouded glasses
because i don't know if the bill has a ton of pork thrown in or some liberal thing that he is against that has nothing to do with gas gouging bill.

All that crap said
Bush is from gas people what would u expect.
watched part of a movie called who killed the electric car.
it says as soon as bush took office several huge grant projects that funded many alt. fuel cars were completely done away with, and American Car Companies ran away from the idea because there was no more funding. But The Japanese companies continued and that's y their hybrids get much better gas mileage.
Yes so this is 1 more part of the Bush legacy

If you read the actual proposal, it has been watered down to make price fixing illegal if there is a national emergency. Oil loving Democrats and Republicans wouldn't pass the first proposal which basically said all price fixing is illegal. Basically, price fixing is perfectly fine by Democrats and Republicans. Most likely the reason Bush would threaten veto is because the proposal has an attachment such as minimum wage increase etc..

Screw the rich. The only reason they have so much money is because of us.

Also, why are they acting like they care about the American people and coming up with proposals to prevent price fixing when we already have laws in place to prevent price fixing.

Hello, collusion is illegal, which is what the oil companies are doing.

Why would he work with congress, his family has made their living in the oil business all of his life. If we would take a minute to reflect, it was Bush who deregulated the energy industry. He did that so they could gouge the American people. Everyone should have paid attention to the first election. If he was honest Abe he would have never been placed into the White house in the first place. Hanging Chad and Oil prices it's all the same with Bush... Go figure!

Not surprised. Bush is an oil man through and through so why not keep oil prices high and make a fortune. Lord knows when he was CEO of companies before his presidency he ran them into the ground.

bush has said time again that he is the decider, commander in charge.
Bush senior made a speech in congress last year, during that speach he broke down and cried. I wonder if it was because he is ashamed of his son? Jr. has'nt really accomplished anything of value.
will he have an aircraft carrier named after him or will it be an oil tanker?

You obviously don't know the history of the Bush family and how they made their money - oil and energy. Naturally Bush will defend the oil and energy companies against the American consumers - which do you think has the real power?

Of course Bush is for oil companies. The more money that his daddy makes, the more money he stands to inherit when his daddy kicks the bucket.

Yes we should, perhaps congress should work out a better bill without alot of pork attached to it.

Congress should define exactly what they want to control

Do you regularly fill a gas tank (car, truck, lawnmower, etc.)? Then, you are for the oil companies too.
