By "fundamentalist" I'm not being religion-specific. Nor do I wish to cause offense, but simply stick to the terminology commonly used by anti-gay individuals. As a gay man, it's worth seeing how we react to this issue, and just how united our opinions are.

I am a fundamentalist myself but I think that if someone were to say that to you you should ask them where they're going because only GOD knows where everyone's going and you could very well be looking down on them in Hell from your perch in Heaven.

Uhm, ask them if they put people to death for cheating. Or if they eat shellfish or wear clothes of 2 different fabrics. Or if they are Christian, thus following Jesus, who said nothing on the topic, or something else that follows the old testament, and if so do they follow it all, or just when it's convenient to bash minorities.
For other religions I don't know, most of the rest are pretty minority-friendly, except maybe the Muslims, but I'm not familiar with them enough to make that guess.

the best answer would be that the bible can be interpreted in 1000's of ways and god says he loves everyone so everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

It really depends on the setting. Usually just a "thanks" and a smiling-thumbs up. Maybe I will make a slight comment on inbreeding and divorce. Its not that big of deal to me.
