Roseville is about 1hr 45mins from San Francisco. You will probably need to spend a night in SF so you can have 2 days to visit tourist spots like GG Bridge, GG Park- I like the Japanese Tea Garden, Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown).

There's a big casino called Thunder Valley in Roseville.

Roseville is close to the gold country - Sutter's Mill and Calvares County. It is about 2 hours from Tahoe, and about 2 1/2 hours from San Francisco. Yosemite is Awesome, and Old Town Sacramento is fun, too. Maybe Delta and Dawn, the humpbacks will still be in the river!

Roseville is east of Sacramento. The good thing about it is it's about 2-3 hours driving from most everything that you would like too see.

Make sure you go to Lake Tahoe, and if you have the time Yosemite, although that is about a 5-6 hour drive, but well worth it.

for shopping there is the galleria mall and there is a casino called thunder valley. depending on what you like to do. take a trip to folsom and shop on historical sutter street. as well as a trip to placerville on main street. old town fair oaks is good all are local to roseville. you can also visit old sacramento. there is even a little transit line that will take you from sutter street in folsom to old sac.
not so local areas to see are san francisco of course and lake tahoe. those are both about an hour and a half away.
