My 18th (or should I say our, me and my twin sister) birthday is in December and i'm trying to plan a party. I was going to go for a club theme, but I also want it to be semi formal. I also want to have a red carpet and a couple people taking photographs as people walk in on the red carpet. I was thinking about a hollywood party, but there was a problem.

The only problem is, one of my closest friends had a hollywood party this year with the rest of my closest friends, so I don't want a repeat.

Does anyone have any type of theme where I could use a red carpet and have it formal to semi formal?

okay ignore the other requests okay? my idea is so far the best! red carpet... marilyn monroe 1940-1950 hollywood glamorous idea thingy going on. have different pictures of the old hollywood actors/actresses poster size posted around the venue. get pictures of you too!! have your guests wear the old fashioned outfits that they had back on then too! find invitations that has something to do the with the movie roll or simple lined formal type, you can look online also! im actually an event planner so i come up with tons of ideas! speaking of birthdays were both planning ours haha mines going to be hawaiian themed though! or for the invitatiosn you can make a clapper you knwo those black things they use before they start airing, well write the details and put this... :Now Playing: Join us for a night of Glitter, Glamour and Glitz as we celebrate Andre's birthday; Date: December 13, 2003 at 8:00 p.m. and included our home address; dress code: for a night of glamour and glitz" and then it would end as ""See you on the red carpet".! you should so go for this itd be awesome!! take huge stars and put them in glitter and hang them from the ceiling around the walls doors etc, you can find life sized oscars and put them in some corners, signs that say beverly hills, los angeles etc, have cameras set around so people can take pictures of you or guests etc, you can get velvet ropes and have those as a pose area where they walk in on the red carpet with some type of background maybe with your name logo'd, a buffet with food with gold skirts very elegant dishes that keep the food warm, silver trays for hourse de voures, have the men wear suits or anything from back then and the women wear dresses! hope this helps out and email me if you need anything else platinum_designs@hotmail.com love, amy

Change your theme. Go with something totally different. Don't get hung up on the red carpet. Look at theses sites to get some new ideas.
