My father was extremely violent when he was drunk. He was an abusive alcoholic. When I was a kid, he broke my nose, and basically used me as a punching bag. He killed my pet dog in a fit of drunken rage. When I was a teenager, he got drunk and committed suicide.
As for myself, I'm pretty cheerful (and very flirtatious) when I drink. I'm not dangerous to others. If I ever suspected that I had those tendencies, I'd never drink again.

Oh gosh no, I'm chatty, dizzy, and I laugh waaaaay too loud. Actually, I bray like donkey. I love everyone, "I love you man!" and just high on life.
The only violent drunk I knew was a guy from northern Ontario. Yeah. He took it too far one night, got stabbed. Not pretty. But he would have a few drinks and just start swinging. Sad really. He was so troubled inside. Everyone tried to help him, I think we all just made it worse.

I don't drink except water so for sure I won't be violent.

My sweet dear hubby turns into Godzilla when he drinks. I hate him when he's drunk. He never hits me, just shouts and threatens. I usually end up at a hotel for the night because I can't stand to look at him. But he's a dear when he's sober.

i do not drink,but have gone through the experience of living with one who does. it's not a pretty sight,quite damaging to say the least. if you can't handle alcohol, you shouldn't be drinking. it will only cause you and others pain & heartache.

My father was an angry drunk. When I'm drunk I love everybody...and I mean EVERYBODY.
