To be honest, they all pretty much work about the same, both name brands and non name brands. The one things you should consider is to buy an unidirectional antenna over an omnidirectional antenna. An omnidirectional antenna broadcasts the signal all around while the unidirectional antenna only broadcasts in one direction. If you have a clear line of sight, aim the antenna directly at your computer. Unidirectional antenna have other advantages too. Since omnidirectional antenna broadcast everywhere, it can cause interference with another wireless network since the they might be using the same frequency. You can try NetGear, Linksys, Belkin...etc. they are all good.

Honesty, antennas are almost all the same. Only difference maybe the connections or the martiels are little better. try to find one that don't have too thick of wire as it will reduce your chances of boosting up your signal

Try the new wireless N from netgear........ its certified for Windows Vista and Window XP and XPx64......... I bought mine when it came out and i love it....... my router is up stairs family room and im down stairs and theres no lag at all...........
