If you define Down as the direction gravity pulls stuff and Up as the other way, then yes there is a Down, but it is kind of hard to test because to stay in space, you have to balance gravity (as in orbit) and then there is no force.
If somehow you could bring an object to an absolute halt with respect to earth but 20,000 miles up, it would begin to fall to earth immediately, then life would get interesting as the earth kept moving around the sun, etc.

Up, down, left and right are always based on a particular reference. For example, which direction is the Earth revolving around the Sun (clockwise or counterclockwise), it depends from where you make your observation!
The same is true of speed. For example, If I am driving my car on the highway then my speed referenced to the car is zero 0 mph, my speed referenced to the Earth would be the speed of the car, lets say 60 mph. But, my speed referenced to the Sun is more than 66,000 mph! Because that is the speed of the Earth around the Sun
So speed is also based on a reference just as direction.

Up and down are relative terms. In space, there is no up or down unless it is with reference to something.
E.g. If you are floating in space you will not be up or down if their is no reference point. However if you are on a space station and you are at the bottom of the station, or floating close to the bottom, then you can go up to the top of the station. In this case there is an up and a down.
The reference points are the bottom of the station and the top of the station.

the concept of up and down is based on gravity, so technically no. It really doesn't matter since you can't feel it.
Also the concept of up and down is a little shaky even on earth. If you ask two people on opposite sides of the world which direction up is, they will point in opposite directions.
Up and down, like time, is just an illusion

up versus down is gravitationally oriented, so unless you were in zero gravity there would be a sense of up or down. think about it like this... if you were on the moon and your head was pointed directly at the earth, down to you would be up to us! but seriously in literral empty space without gravity ther is no up and down.

There's always an up and a down. Its all relative to your point of view. Up is over your head and down is below your feet. Up and down doesn't have to be the same for you as it is for me.

Point in any direction and call it down. The opposite direction would be up, relative to down.

No. Up and down would be in reference to a gravity field. Since one doesn't exist, up and down have no sense.

It's like 'scuba diving' at night. Freaky as hell. Yo don't know if you're going up or down till you check your gauges.
