That's really sad, I still mourn the loss of my mum (15 years ago) but it's different for different people. I had unresolved issues. You shouldn't be judged about how soon, but you may be. Just do it when you're ready. As for life, it's multi coloured all the time. Life was made for living, it's too short to curl up in a ball and wimper.

who are you mourning for? If it's a parent, then you should probably start to cheer up a little after 4 or 5 months. A brother or sister...probably 3 months. I'd get over the death of a distant relative in less than a month probably, but if it's your own child....I don't think you can ever really get over that.

Not the Q i was expecting .
There's no coming back in the real world ,your loss is final and that gives you green light to start grieving ,some people have missing loved ones that may never return ,with no idea if they are safe.Their grief can be endless ,yours on the other hand doesn't have to be ,just take the time you need ,it will subside and you'll begin to smile at the memories . Take care .

u will come out of the blue when u are ready. u willl know when that time is cos it will hit u like a juggarnaut. u will say to yourself - today is the day i am moving on.
give yourself time but dont let it be a lifetime, u still have memories, use them. and u still have dreams, acheive them. if u can do these at the same time then ur on your way anyway, and by wanting to come out of mourning u
are already setting the dream results, so ur on ur way.
keep going :)

Ah darlin', it's different for everyone. I'm so sorry for your loss. If you feel like it's been too long, do you have someone you can talk to? Like a professional, or a trusted friend?
"Courage does not always roar like a lion. Sometimes, it is a small voice at the end of a long day that says, I will try again tomorrow."
Blessed be, friend.

i disagree with the 3rd (?) answerer saying that yellow is a better colour. Its not. Yellow is too bright. Orange is more manageable. Plus, i feel a little sorry for orange. Its never anybody's favourite colour.

there is no time limit but things will start to ease up after a couple years. you have no choice but to go on. i dont know when you will start cheering up, maybe when you discover that same feelings you once had with the person you lost with another person but nothing can replace the experiences you shared with them. Just have to try to live day to day.

Its not the end of the world.
I don't have an orange badge.
I think they look a bit like prison tags anyway.
