Any subject is good.
Business is fine, ENGINEERING is wonderful (shortage of patent lawyers... and engineers/lawyers are the niche that fulfills this need), and almost anything from Caribbean Studies to Applied Mathematical Theory will be helpful in some facet.
Poli Sci, Philosophy, and English are usually recommended (along with History) as majors because they tend to develop critical thinking skills in the same vein as law schools. People with these majors do have a slight advantage at the beginning of the program, but this advantage wanes quickly.

Business would be great, especially if you want to get into business law. You can have pretty much any major. The only recommendation I have seen from law schools is to take a lot of classes that have a lot of reading. So if your business classes don't have much reading, take classes like history and philosophy for your electives. This way, you will be prepared to read LOTS of legal books in law school.

Actually, your degree before you go into law school really doesn't matter; all that matters is that you DO have one. So have fun and study something you're interested in...it'll make the ride a whole lot easier!

you can major in anything. i would recommend majoring in whatever you are most interested in and in the field where you anticipate being able to get the best grades because GPA is important in applying to law school
