My son is 8 months old. He has an ear infection and his milk intake has been less than 18 oz for a week. He is still eating his solids, but does not want more than 2-3 oz of milk at a time. The Dr told me to give him yougurt juice, but he does not seem to want fluids of any kind. Any suggestions? Or should I not be worried? The Dr did not seem to be worried about it.

He may be in pain when he swallows so that is why he doesnt want to drink as long as he is eating he should be fine. Try giving his some ice pops and see if he will take those. pedialyte makes some that will restore his electrolytes if your worried about dehydration. Is he on antibiotic? If yes it should start working immediately usually 1 day later they feel much better. Maybe you need to switch to something stronger?! I hope he feels better.

Most babies avoid milk and milk products when they don't feel well. My son is 2 and he still gets that way. The heat doesn't help either. Under a week, the doctor is not likely to be concerned, but take him in if it persists.

as long as he is getting some intake he should get better as he feels better but keep an eye on him if you feel he is becoming dehydrated or losing quite a bit of weight then re visit the doc's.

there is quite a lot of fluid in solid foods as well so don't be too concerned, try smoothies as these have lots of fluid too

If you're trying it via a bottle, that'll hurt his ears. Try a sippy cup - that might be more comfortable for him.
