When sometimes I close the lid to hibernate, my laptop would restart and some message of "unexpected shutdown" appears. It had occured several times. It's a new laptop and I checked there is no virus at all.
Can someone tell me what is going on?
Much appreciated.

Might be over heating. if you leave the laptop on all the time, never turn it off or unplug it, you will have problems like this.

Dont close the for hibernate. While your hardware and windows itself handles sleep and hibernate well, the other applications on your puter need to also. Go into control panel/power and create a profile for school (where you may need to shut the lid for privacy or a quick bathroom run) and a normal profile. For school/work set to "sleep on close", with no hibernate. Only use theis for a few minutes at a time. For normal, set to "shutdown on close".

If it was in hibernation mode and wakes up CPU can't find driver and laptop shuts down. 1.Don't use hibernation. In Power Option change settings. 2.Update drivers. 3.Go to Control Panel / Administrative Errors / Event Viewer.Look under Critical Errors for exact description of trouble.

My biggest suggestion is that you take it to the store you got it and see if they know what's wrong with it.

Laptops are always iffy and they have lots of problems. If this only happens when you close the lid, make sure you save anything your working on before closing it.
