My favorite team is the Royals - not even close to the best pitching staff there.
The best staff is in the NL... the San Diego Padres. They have a team ERA of 3.00, 1.15 WHIP, 7 shutouts and have only given up 25 HR. They lead the majors in all of those categories. They're also 2nd in walks and 10th in Ks.
The best AL team is the Red Sox, they're 2nd in the AL w/ a 3.66 ERA, 2nd with 18 saves, 2nd w/ a .244 BA against and 2nd w/ a 2.31 K/BB ratio. They're the only AL team at the top of those categories, also a 35-15 record.

My favorite team is the St. Louis Cardinals...I have to agree with just about everyone else on here...The Red Sox are just loaded...They have 3 legitimate number ones in their rotation in Schilling, Dice-k and Becket. Not to mention until the last 3 starts Wakefield was leading the league in ERA. With Papelbon anchoring the bullpen they could be devestating in a short series.
For a team that took 86 years between championships it looks like they may not have to wait near as long this time around.

Today my favorite team's Pittsburgh. Tomorrow it will be Houston. The MLB schedule decides which team is my favorite on a given 2-, 3-, or 4-game series.
As for which team has the best pitching, that has to be Boston. Next year, it will be Minnesota with the return of Liriano. Beyond that, I can't tell because Santana might be a free agent.

My favorite team is the Oakland A's. The best pitching in the majors is the Boston Redsox. Stats don't lie. The A's have the 2nd or 3rd best pitching, but they couldn't hit themselves with a bat much less the ball. Boston however, is crushing it.

Isn't listing a favorite team showing your bias???? The other question about the best pitching can be unbias, but not the favorite team ...
Favorite team - Chicago Cubs
Best Pitching -
Oakland - Haren /Harden /Gaudin /Blanton /Kennedy(pretty tough!)
Chicago Cubs - Zambrano /Lilly /Hill /Marshall /Marquis (not too bad)
Philly - gotta list them for Cole Hamels all by himself!!!
