I heard that somebody told me that it causes massive gas build ups or something.
Care to explain in detail, please?

Diet coke is acidic. If Mentos were basic, you'd have a chemical reaction, producing a salt and some gas. Neither one is strong enough to produce any detrimental side effects. You can eat the candy and swallow it with the soda. See for yourself. It's fine.

Yeah it Does. But Its Hard To Do, We Tried it With A Pack Of Mentos, it wasnt a Big Erupption, but yes. Trying To get Them All in before it explodes is the hard part.

very good question. i've tried it myself few hours after i received an email from a friend telling about this. It was just foam-like bubbles came out [overflowing]of the bottle when i put mentos into it
No massive gas build-up
After that I use the coke to clean up my bathroom floor and it works!

But.. they do mix... put a mentos into a coke bottle and see what happens. Make sure coke is still present. It shall be a science expierement. And point the cap away from yourself and not at anyone valuable...

No, they mix fine. Try it yourself - drop a few Mentos into a liter bottle of soda, but stand well back afterwards! And bring along an umbrella.

yea they will make it fizz up but if you drink coke and mentos you won't explode you will have the burps

They mix really well just don't try the experiment inside or you will have a big mess to clean up good luck! :)
