Absolutely!! Public television has some great entertainment for children, excellent documentaries, and also some good political content. It really does hold what the public needs to know.

Yes, which is why I do so! I enjoy quite a few of the programs that they produce, and I support both public TV and public radio stations.

Most definitely. If you don't have cable tv it is very nice to have the quality programing they offer. When my boys started school the teachers were amazed at all the things they new. And it was all due to public television.

The programming is decent, and I think voluntary support is fine. Taxpayer support should be eliminated right away. It is wrong for the government to support any press outlet, esp. one that offers opinion and news

Nobody else will give us decent programming.
PBS gives us "Nova," while the Discovery Channel (which was supposed to be educational) gives us "American Chopper."
PBS gives us "American Masters," while A&E (which was supposed to be cultural) gives us "Dog the Bounty Hunter."

etc.

However, I find it annoying that whenever my public television station holds a pledge drive, all of the programs I watch get bumped in favor of endless reruns of D.Wayne Dyer, Suze Orman, and Andre Rieu.
