the keys with numbers as well as letters on are just typing in numbers.Help please- am asking this on behalf of a friend, so I'm sorry if it's a bit vague.

Wow- great response+v helpful- but can you believe it- I've texted her with advice + she says she's busy watching Corrie at moment! Well really........why do we bother?

do what everyone say to do with the 'fn' key ect then reboot the laptop

when it has finished booting make sure that it is typing properly

if it isn't then do this...

reboot the pc again... :( but before the windows xo logo come up (or maybe a penguin if your freind has linux, i dunno :P some where on the screen there will be something like hold down the del key to enter the bios

do that

then look all the way though looking for number lock on on start....
change this to no (well duhhhhhhhhhh)

then save it ect.

All cats have their own personalities. Unfortunately, yours has the a--hole personality. There are measures that can be taken to minimize some of the behaviors that are bothering you such as not allowing it in the bedroom when you're sleeping. Maybe do an Internet search on cat behaviors and what can be done to stop unwanted behaviors.

Look on laptop, on the bottom left should be a key fieth blue letter 'Fn' on it, hold that and look for another key (most likely on top right) that reads 'Num' in the same color as 'Fn', press that once.

I would check the number lock key but I can't understand why your cat went for the keyboard and not the mouse. lol

Try the fn key in conjunction with a key that might be called numlock or has a number and a padlock on it.
That was a really sneaky cat. :-)
