Is she paying for it with a credit card? In order to accept credit card payments on PayPal you have to upgrade to a Business account.... Which doesn't cost you, but you will have to pay a percentage of the sales amount because of credit card surcharges.

She's probably trying to pay with a credit card & you are using the free version of paypal.
It is possible to accpet 5 credit card payments per year with paypal, even if you have the free version, however you must also still be within your limits for the month and there is a charge for accepting credit cards. Look at the fees schedule.
If the laptop sold for over $500, you won't be able to accept a paypal payment if you're using the free version of paypal. You'll have to upgrade to the business or premium service, which will also charge you a certain percent on every transaction.
My advice would be to set up another paypal account & have her split the payment to the 2 accounts. After a month, when your limits have been reset, you can then transfer the money to yourself.

Using Paypal and EBay is a good way to get your identity taken. What's it going to take before people stop giving personal information over the Internet? There is no such thing as Internet security. The fact that Microsoft was hacked should open your eyes.

According to Paypal
PayPal members must confirm their email address before the money will be credited to their PayPal account.
Also I noted that you do not have to be a member of Paypal to recieve money. Hope this helps.

you have to make sure your account has been verified. It has nothing to do with the other person paying. You might have to upgrade to be able to accept creditcards and e-checks, instead of just transfers.

I would say that her credit card showed less than good credit, therefore, no sale.
