Cannon does not offer any XP drivers for this printer.... so it may not be compatible with an XP operating system.
You should be able to find some very inexpensive printers to replace this one at possibly any of the office supply stores, Best Buy or CompUSA that will be compatible.

You dont need special software, just your canon software. It can be downloaded for free from their website
