After the shenanigans of the hospitalisation with pancreatitis/gallstones incident a couple of weeks ago, just as I thought I was feeling better...

....I got struck down on Saturday night/all day yesterday with a horrible vomiting, diarrhoea flu type thing. As I had a really high temperature and couldn't stop throwing up, we called the Doc out in case it was something to do with the pancreatitis again. Doc thinks it's a completely separate virus that I've picked up, as I have a sore throat and painful cough with it too.

Anyone else had this? I'm not being sick any more (although still got the runs - sorry, tmi!) and feel a bit hungry tonight - when would it be 'safe' to start eating? I'm terrified of being sick again - my poor ribs can't take much more.

I know I'm a whingeing winnie, but I'm feeling extremely fed up what with one thing and another!

I'd be a hypochondriac only if I announced that my husband was suffering from it as well, sunshine....

no.
I've got something similar to your illness.
my ears are swollen up,throat sore, cold headache, blocked up nose, terrible cough.
I recently came into contact with mould in a house that was for renting(it wasn't even habitable)and I think I've got an allergic type of reaction from the mould, not sure what it is,but I'm fed-up with this illness,I've had it for a whole week and seem to be getting worse.
wait an hour or two before eating, and try some buttered toast, something not to heavy, but light, and drink plenty of water.
get well soon.

Try a bit of toast. That should stay down. Even if you do throw up again at least you get some pleasure from eating - and you seem like you deserve some.

Get well soon.

Try Sainsburys Own Noodle Cuppa Soup
Ive had eight of them on the trot and have run out.
I'm not ill, but I was thinking they would make a good substitute if you were, plenty of nutritious bits and flavour too.

Sorry to hear you're not well again. It's not your fault if you're ill with something like this. In my book a whinger is someone who constantly moans about something they brought on themselves, like a hangover.
If you feel up to it get some plain microbiotic yoghurt and mix in something like cornflakes/branflakes for the fibre. Bland but settling that's the best thing for now.

Don't eat anything too heavy, maybe just a cup-a-soup and a slice of toast. I agree with first answerer, you should ask your doc to check you for MRSA, just to ease your mind. Hope you feel better soon.

Nah. You're not a Debbie Downer. Don't give up!

Your doc sounds like a quack.
Eat some chicken soup and get well soon! :-)

Edit: Just think about shaggy's mother-in-law.

Aw, that sounds awful, but hope you feel better soon.
Try to keep upyour fluid intake to avoid deydration. maybe start with a clear, light soup and toast (for fibre), stay away from anything to rich or heavy until your tum settles itself.
