As much as the whole this is awful, the question I want to know is - What will happen when the next child goes missing? Will there be the same money fund and offer of private jets for those families?

The image of the Portugese police in this matter has been sold as more Keystone Cops than a professional police outfit. This witness claimed she had seen a child at a time the police had identified as significant.
That the claim is currently under investigation, indicates the police are piecing together possible sightings, hearsay and innuendo - generally doing what they are paid for. Policemen and women have children too.
As with all investigations, a slim chance is still a chance - the hope is that the child can be found alive and well. The parents and grandparents must be going through their own personal hells. The media and particularly newspapers are of limited value - seeing such sightings not as an opportunity to help but as an emotive story to sell papers - this leads to concentrated objectification, over-reporting and consequently the growth in public apathy. Maddie isn't seen by some as a victim, just something that is occupying the news everywhere.
Many children have been abducted in the time that has elapsed since Maddie's whereabouts became unknown. The focus has and should be returning each child to their respective parents. Maddie's parents can't be considered as selfish - their biggest wish is for their child to return.
I'm praying for a positive resolution

Why is nothing ever straight forward in this case? On Saturday it was said that a man had been seen carrying an object that might have been a child close to the McCann's apartment. Today in the paper it said that this woman had seen a man carrying a child wearing pink pyjamas. It said the man was carrying the child under his arm! I know that you can't trust the papers but what exactly is the correct version. I think we should be told!

If you & I were friends who were about to meet for dinner & you saw a man you didn't recognise removing my child from the area near my room, surely you would challenge him or shout for the parents/police or something.
If you did & it turned out to be a different child & totally innocent then no harm done. But if you didn't mention it to me when you met me & just let him carry her away, what kind of friend are you?
How stupid is this friend that she only thought about mentioning it after.
On a child friendy (?) resort like that there were so many kids around &, lets be honest, one 4 year old girl looks pretty much like all other 4 year old girls so there really is no way to know if it was or wasn't Madeline.

It probably didn't tie-in with the McCanns original report, which is probably why it's taken so long to come out.
I'm sure it's gone from what could have been a child wrapped in a blanket, to a blond child in pink pyjamas, yet such a vague description of the kidnapper... got to wonder!

Allright there mate! Long time no see!
I think they were drunk. Dont forget they were in a party of "big drinkers" as stated by the Portuguese locals, and would you recognise your best mates kid? I would!
Also, dont know the facts but read on here they had been drinking in the day too.
Not throwing stones BTW I drink on hols. Ilove a drink. BUT I put mine in club, or finish off on the balcony.
Wonder if it has anything to do with the reward really? The McCanns want it LOL

Even if that person wasn't sure the witness was right to mention it to the police because it could be significant. They should take any sighting seriously.

If the woman (a friend of the McCanns ) was so convinced it was Madeline why didn't she chase after the man or scream for help . So clearly she couldn't of been that sure or even suspicious. As she never did either of these or even mentioned in to the McCanns when she met them for dinner.
If for one moment I saw an adult who I did not reorganise with a friends child I had gone on holiday with . i certainly would of asked him at least what he was doing with the little un.

Probably wanting to make a name for herself. The McCanns wouldn't have mentioned it in their interviews - they were far too busy talking about themselves and how they have done absolutely nothing wrong - they are so deluded it's unreal.
