Truth is a matter of belief. Facts are irrefutable.
It is a fact that the apple fell from that tree. I saw it happen.
The truth is, I expect that each apple will eventually be disconnected from it's tree, but I don't know it for a fact. :)

Seriously? I think truth can be a partially subjective thing. While we all share some common universal truths, as individuals there are certain truths for one that will not be truths for another. For example, something as simple as "I like blueberries" may be a truth for me, but not for someone else. It can obviously get more complicated, when you consider moral issues such as "religious truths" or "moral truths".
