I had been using Cross brand ink, and have no problems with it specifically, but am looking for something else to try. I would also like something that is a bit more waterproof as I'm somewhat scared of losing important notes or drawings if my notebook were to get wet. Any brand suggestions based on good experience? Thanks.

Private Reserve Ink, Velvet Black -- although I prefer blue for writing, many people love the black version of this high quality fountain pen ink.

Here is the link to the colors:

Many dealers, including on eBay:

neutral ph - excellent coverage - smooth flow - vibrant colors
non-clogging - fast-drying - classic bottle design - reasonably priced, 50 ml bottle $7.60 - made in the U.S.A.

I've been into pen and ink for over 50 years and buy my ink in the PINT size!
One ink I purchase for my fountain pens, from CARTER and the other for my straight pen nibs,...from Dick Blick.
They deliver the next day UPS! I recommend them for price and service!!
