Tibet, or any Islamic country.

What is the rate of recurrence in sex offenders?

Would you want that risk around your children?

Mistakes have consequences, sex offenders constitute a menace to society.

I do not know were a sex offender can go to live and be left alone, but judging by the majority of the answers to your question, I would say not many places. As long as the media propaganda, fear and hate continue to spread if there are places they would become fewer and fewer.

I wonder how many of these hate filled people, claim to be Christian? What happened to forgiveness and loving ones enemy.

If people would look at criminal stats form the Fed and States instead of listening to the hate and fear driven media they would find that, with the exception of child molesters, sex offenders are the least likely group of criminals to re-offend.

As far as affecting someone else’s life, any violent crime affects the lives of at least one person and yet sex offenders are the only ones that get labeled publicly, and forced to register after prison. Don't get me wrong, I think sex offenders should be severely punished, but to treat them any different than any other violet criminal is in my opinion wrong.

The media has done a wonderful job of brainwashing people to think that sex offender or predator means child molester, but the truth is it does not. A person con be labeled a sex offender for pissing along the side of the road, slapping the backside of a waitress, If a boyfriend/girlfriend is 18 and there partner is 15 they are sex offenders in some states they are automatically designated predators because of the minor status of the "victim".

Did you know that by law in most states if you ever had sex with a partner under the influence of a drug or alcohol, if the partner complained you are a sex offender? In some states if your partner said no at first and then changed their mind do to your verbal persuasion, if the partner once to press charges you are a sex offender?

And one more thing, to those that want to continually harass, by not leaving them alone, buy not letting them have a place to live, a way to make a living. You are forcing them into the streets were they cannot be watched or monitored and putting them in a situation where they may have to commit a crime just to eat.

Ronnie you can live where ever you want as long as it is not in my neighborhood. I do not want sex offenders living near my daughters and my wife. I think that I have the right to let everyone in the neighborhood know that you are a sex offender in order to protect society from future attacks from you. When a sex offender moves into the area the people with children need to know you are there to protect their kids.

Sex offenses are not mistakes, they are not lapses in judgment. They are well thought out and planned attacks on women and children. You took the innocence from a child or a woman and they may never recover fully from what you did. The average woman spends $15,000 a year for the rest of her life in medical and mental health bills. Are you paying those costs? I think not. I do not want you living here.

Where should you live? In prison for the rest of your life. That is where. I like Alabama and Texas. They are trying to make it so that your second sex offense is punishable by the death penalty.

Because violent offenses fall under a wide variety of crimes. The majority of which won't be people who are going to stab you with a knife. Furthermore your logic seems too be very far off. Sex offenders aren't just men for one, and neither are sex offenders going to be just showing you his privates. Sex offenders will be men or women who have committed rape crimes, or are known pedophiles. Sex offenders don't need a motive to rape someone, as that is what they like too do. You also can't get in trouble for watching porn on your computer. If you mug an old lady that is a felony charge.

It depends on the crime. Someone labeled a "sex offender" can be someone who molests a child, consenting, drunken college kids where one of them regrets their actions and decides to press charges, or even an 18 year old with a consenting 15 year old girlfriend. In some states it is a sexual offense of urinate in public. Yet look at how many people automatically assume that someone labled a sex offender is a child molester and has an interest in children. The majority of sex crimes do not anyone below the age of consent.

While I will agree that all of these things are wrong, I disagree that all of these individuals pose a threat to our society and need to be locked up for life or even killed. I believe in strict sentencing but I feel that after a person has served his/her sentence, that should be the end of it. If the sentencing needs to be stronger, make it stronger. But once people have served their sentence, they should be done with it.

I strongly disagree with the idea that a sexual offense should automatically get a harsher penalty than severely maiming a person or even killing a person. Those who do these things do not have to register with their local authorities and disclose their crimes to their communities. So while in some communities we cannot have a person living near a school who has urinated in public, we CAN have murderers, convicted drug dealers, and repeat offenders of felonious domestic violence quietly living next to schools and never having to account for their whereabouts. That scares me.

It is known that sex offenders are repeat offenders. They have lost their rights to be left alone. All parents, teachers, children, and grandparents should know where sex offenders live to protect the children. BY THE WAY - IT IS NOT POOR JUDGEMENT - YOU SHOULD NEVER LIVE IN PEACE - THE PERSON YOU ASSAULTED WILL HAVE TO LIVE WITH WHAT YOU DID FOR THE REST OF THIER LIVES.
I think it would be best to limit the number of sex offenders in each city.

The trouble is, few actually think it was a mistake, only to get caught was a mistake.

If they apologized, promised to be different, and did, they would get opportunities. Who wants to put their children, or other adults at risk to unapologetic people who don't care whom they hurt ?

Perhaps the S.O's need some sort of public penance to their victims, so the victim can feel and believe the S.O. is truly changed. I'm sure in some cases they should be forgiven and left alone, but in many cases, they still need counseling, or perhaps don't think they did do anything wrong, and will do it again. So who do you expect to volunteer to be your next future victims, or your peers' victims if not yours ?

Its a sad situation all around. I had a niece claim I had bothered her. Messed up family relations for years, even after she admitted she lied..

Jail. Why should a sex offender live in peace? You have ruined part of someones life. Our judicial system is foolish for allowing these people to be filtered back into society. How would you feel if someone raped/molested your wife/sister/daughter???

So??? A mistake???? You say it like its not a big deal. Thats disgusting.

they can be left alone if they try until they die to make up for that mistake and never do it again most sex offenders are repeat offenders and never try to do good works to make up for it. Like priest who do that **** will never be able to make up for it they where in a position of good and they abused that position if you believe in the after life like they do they know that it will take lifetimes to make up for the abuses they commited. If you do good works and when people accost you for what you did if you raise no hand in defense and you wish them no ill will or misfortune and you never make that mistake(as you call it) again you will recieve peace if you desire it(pretty much almost become a holy man don't get religous just holy). You have marked(it may even be with you to people until you die) yourself erase the mark and recieve no more marks the path will be hard think of the guy in hades pushing the rock up the hill for eternity its that hard. Other than that if you do nothing good and you wish harm on others you will never recieve peace but you will be left alone but you won't like being left alone there cause you will be in hell. I do hope for your sake that you choose good and remove that mark and make yourself worthy of respect. even if you do enough good to be forgiven in the eyes of your victim(very important person for you to forgiven by) I mean you do realize you sound like your trying to be a victim you might have destroyed all the good in somebody you might have crushed whatever faith and trust in people they had so stop thinking of your damn self you did that when you commited your crime you where lustful and greedy and you want sympathy. become selfless. you can see your faults in the way you worded your question think about what I have said to you I hope you save your soul.
