ALL OF THEM!!! There is a balance that must be taken into account for a proper relationship the hardest thing is finding that balance. Start with trust once you have that things just seem to fall in to place you come to an understanding on eachother and that gives the respect but when one is out of balance it can have a "snowball" effect on your relationship hence hard times good luck

That's the problem with most relationships...people think you have to choose what elements are most important. When in reality...all four of those are crucial to any successful relationship. You can't truly love someone if you have no kind of understanding of them (their views, their wants and needs, etc). Just as you cannot respect someone if you do not trust them, and they cannot respect you if they cannot trust you. In an ideal relationship between two people...they love, understand, trust, and respect their partner. All four of these things go hand in hand...and if any of the four are not there...the chances of the relationship lasting are not good.

I think you have to understand each other first before you can trust. If you can do that you will respectfully love one another

A great one should have all of the above! If you are lacking in any one area you need to fix it or the rest will fall apart also!!!!!
