I guess that ABBA are the most successful group at leats for me their songs are more armonics like Chiquitita,Dancing Queen, mamma mia,lay all your love on me,gimme gimme gime, one of us,etc.
and I guess they experimented in more musical generes like disco,pop,rock,electro-disco(Lay all your love on me),balad, etc.
And I love Madonna's song Hung up(It's a sample of ABBA's 1979 hit "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)")
But specialy I love ABBA becuase they recorded songs in my native language (Spanish).
ABBA has reportedly sold more than 370 million records.

ABBA without a doubt. But its not really a fair question...the Beatles changed history due to the time they came out in the 60's. No-one had really seen that before. ABBA changed history in the 70's. Different decades, different styles. Both equally as talented. ABBA is just more appealing to me, Beatles were kinda boring. I think with the Beatles its more what they stand for in history than anything else. Also, us Brits get abit patriotic.

I think if they were out at the same time, ABBA would come out top.

The Beatles

It's not really fair, that one.

Of course, this is all just personal preference.

I think The Beatles were more talented, more experimental, more influential, and more successful.

I really like ABBA a lot, but The Beatles are the most important group in history.

ABBA is more successful than the Beatles? Sorry, but no group/band is more successful than the Beatles...The Stones come close, but ABBA is far behind.

Beatles, definately.
From the way they wrote their songs to the way they recorded them. It's all in the details!

There's no way ABBA was more successful.

no offense- but WHAT!? how can you compare these 2 bands? they are not even in the same category- not even close.
I won't knock ABBA- you obviously know more about them than I would- but 'more successful'? having spent more of your own money on a band does not make them more successful. The Beatles were pioneers of Rock, they opened the doors for what rock is today. And they are still making money.
don't even bring up 'Mama Mia!'- I got Cirque Du Soleil's 'Love'.

I love ABBA, that's my generation and the major attraction for me was that they were a Swedish group and I'm part Swedish....but....I am a MAJOR Beatlemaniac and they were far more popular, prolific and talented.
