The manager of each league's All-Star Team chooses the pitchers himself. Just curious -- why would you think LaRussa wouldn't take Peavy? The guy's a shoo-in.

All pitchers and reserve players (position players not selected by fan voting) are chosen by the managers of each All Star team. The two managers are decided by which teams made it to the World Series the previous year. AL: Detroit Tigers - Manager J. Leyland, NL: St. Louis Cardinals Manager Tony La Russa. As far as the National League is concerned, the starting pitcher selected rarely matters since the American League delivers an annual beating (they've won the last 10 contests).

to allow you realize the certainty i dont think of the all-celeb is that significant. particular it does determine which league would have how field benefit. yet its relatively for gamers to return jointly and have relaxing. yet to respond to your question, pitchers could be properly rounded. You shouldnt have many wins yet a severe era and vise versa. As for the others postions they are many times chosen via how properly they hit the ball. no longer via there place. i think of thats why they go away it as much as the persons because of the fact its relatively alot to think of roughly whilst your chosing gamers for the all-celeb pastime
