i believe in not engaging myself in those old midwives tales and acts. that's what I'm superstitiously superstitious about.
I'd like to add that people like cookie and kobayash's condition may be what is medically known as obsessive compulsive disorder. it is not so much about a superstitious act, but that the brain tells the person to do something "religiously", like wash your hands, turn the door knob twice to the left before opening, etc. a psychiatrist might be able to help.

Nah. I act superstitious as a joke sometimes. For example, I fake getting scared when a black cat crosses my path (it actually happened on Friday, 4/13/2007), but I don't really care.

Yes! Cats crossing the road in front of your moving vehicle. You look over your right shoulder three times quickly and safely.
Leaving your home and turning around to go back for what ever reason. Don't do it unless its an emergency.
Spilling salt. Throw a little salt over your right shoulder.
Opening an umbrella in the house. Don't do it!
Walking under a latter. Don't do it!
There are more, but I won't bore you any longer.

I'm not superstitious really. I think I can control my destiny for good or ill through my actions.
