Nidavell: Course you are right 'There is nothing wrong with seeking the opinion of a male', but the amount of questions on here asking men/boys what top should i wear?, what kind of boobs do you like??? is just ridicolous e.g.

I just think seeking the approval of men frequently or on certain topics does more harm than good

Yes i agree, i probably did this when i was young and naive, you'll find most of these questions are asked by teenage girls lol.
I think when we grow up we realise what men think really isn't the be all and end all. Thats why a lot of young girls now sleep around without protection and get pregnant early, or get riddled with std's because they want to make every guy in the world think they are great and sexy. They actually think they are easy and then jump onto the next girl desperate to please them.
They will grow out of it.

Drew I don't think you're being a moany cow, or a b~itch!
I think it's a misunderstanding. Opposites attract, men and women are opposites. The women want to know (whether they understand it or not) what will attract the boys. So they ask the boys, thinking who better to ask but the ones you want? Right?
Well I don't think you should be asking the boys for advice unless you are one of the boys. If a girl or a woman wants to know how to attract a male partner then the best thing they can do is ask a successful woman in that department.
But curiosity will always bring out the girls to try to find out how the boys think about this or that and the other thing.
There is nothing wrong with finding that pathetic! It is your opinion that you don't need a boys advice on what they want. You may be right. But then the girls that are asking aren't wrong either. They aren't going to get the right advice from a boy! But then I don't think they take the boys answers to heart either.

In the middle above this window is box which has next to it the word, 'Search for questions,' and which, l suspect, is the least used [ other than the spell checker ] facility here.

If used, then the likelihood is that the question about to be asked has already been asked and thus the answers already given [ many times ].

Until someone tells you that what you are doing is 'scratching your itch,' then you are not going to know what the sensation is that causes you to rake your nails over that feeling - and cure it. Likewise, those that follow you in life do not realise that what they are feeling is called 'insecurity' over this or that fact about their body / behaviour etc, and seek reassurance about it.

Yes, they are 'pathetic,' but only because you have already formed an opinion about the behaviour and seeming attitudes that create the question. My annoyance is that they can't be bothered to search for the Question and its Answers themselves.

My experience has been that these people would rather have someone 'tell them the answer' [ which they'd likely dismiss anyway ] than search for it.

It would seem that it's often just too much energy to expect the poor little darlings to spend - plus the the lack of any extended family of whom they just might possible be able to ask those sort of questions of the older members of.

Sash.

Because you are expressing YOUR opinion, you think you are a moany cow? I disagree.
That is what this site is for; to ask questions, and to answer questions. Your OPINION is important. We want to hear what you think, not just be a yes person.
I never thought about boys/men only. Or even girls/ladies only. Until now.
And I was not aware that women are constantly seeking approval of men on how they should look/act, weight. Until now.

Keep asking and commenting. That is what makes this site interesting. OPINIONS OF EVERYONE.

youre not being a moany cow, you are perfectly right to ask why women are seeking approval off men and everyone else. it dosent matter how women act or dress because everyone is different and shouldnt act the same

I'm affraid my friend you are just being a moaning cow...no offence! I really think its time you stop burning your bra! Just because someone asks for anothers opinion it doesnt mean that they are seeking theyre approval! If, as a man, I wanted to some how try and understand the workings of the female 'brain' then I would ask one, simple as that! And that is all that is happening here.....................and besides have you ever known a woman to actually listen to a man? They tend to ask our opinions so they can then shout at us and tell us that we are wrong. So stop your moaning!

There are questions directed at ladies only on here aswell. It works both ways, and I suppose it evens out in the end. Just human nature, I think. Sometimes the context of the question does actually call for it.

I think you are being a bit moany.
There is nothing wrong with seeking the opinion of a male.

There are also lots of questions asking for the opinions of girls:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ApHt2jogi5U472kkB8OdyQMjzKIX?qid=20070122135818AAXETm5

Edit:
You're right.
Those questions are stupid.
There are also just as stupid questions aimed at girls though:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AtuM39NAHchn7ExAl5HrKKUjzKIX?qid=20070217020946AA4Wrco
A lot of stupid and thick questions get posted on these forums, but they target both sexes. But yes, I find it quite ridiculous.

Drew, like some others said, it is definitely little teenagers or girls with low self-esteem needing approval from guys.... leave them alone, they'll realise it is a pointless exercise soon enough ;-)

Makes them feel more secure. There is usually nothing wrong with them. If there is, the men usually say something about it.
