Get the book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" published by and available from The Stuttering Foundation for just a couple dollars. Several of my family members worked through the steps diligently and went through the book over and over until they overcame their stuttering. Their web site is www.stutteringhelp.org and the phone number is 800-992-9392. You can order over the internet or by phone. Look under "Brochures for All Ages" for the tips for talking with someone who stutters as that will help you, too.

Stuttering is a condition that requires special and proffessional help, but if this can't be achieved (schedule and costs), there is a great book out there I read a few months ago. I don't remember the author, but the title goes something like "More Plato, less Prozak". Get it......it helped me a whole lot.

have him sing songs and practice his speech with music. Have him relax with breathing deeply and journal everything he wants to say.
