I think you stumped them with this simple question. If they did answer it correctly they would have to publicly express negative things about themselves. Such as not actually believing in what you preach. It's typically called being a hypocrit. Thanks! Good question.

The shocking part of modern politics is that the two parties are exactly the opposite of their imagine in most cases. Leftys denigrate any Conservative who doesn't share their loony beliefs, than cries foul when a Conservative points to the facts and insists they stop living in a dream world.
Think I'm wrong? Consider the following:
Conservatives are the real conservationists, not Liberals. Liberals say they are truly concerned about the environment, but what has been been their overall impact? Which group is responsible for setting aside all the national parks? Was it Conservative sportsmen, game hunters, botanists, and naturalists who had an intimate knowledge of the land, and sought tirelessly to protect it, or some clueless Liberal in NYC who just saw some pretty picture and thought it would be nice to visit someday?
So, misconception #1: Conservatives are the true conservationists. Liberals just make matters worse. The are inept blunderers who can't get anything right. If they had not opposed nuclear energy back in the 70's, we would be energy sufficient right now. Think about it. (France pursued nuclear energy, and they are laughing their @ss off at us)
Conservatives are the true purveyors of social equality; Liberals are racist. Did I raise some eyebrows? Think of this: when I have gotten a Liberal really steamed up about the Iraq war, they will, out of exasperation, finally blurt out, "Oh come on, you don't really expect a bunch of people as volatile and irrational like those people over there can handle Democracy, do you?"
A Liberal will say this without any sense of irony. They purport to be so egalitarian, but it is Conservatives who see people in the Middle East as capable enough and smart enough to handle democracy. Liberals only see a scary bunch of fist pumping ragheads.
The worst offense the Libs make is their tacit alliance with terrorists. In a letter from Al-Zarkawi to his followers, the master terrorist implored his followers to hang on just a little longer. Although their cause seemed hopeless against such overwhelming firepower and determination from the U.S., inevitably stupid, naive "anti-war" demonstrators would derail support for continued military support of the Iraqi government, and the insurgents would win by default.
Now, think about this: Liberals read the Al Zarkawi letter. The letter plainly states the only way the insurgents can win is if stupid people protest the war; otherwise, they will not be able to prevail. The only reason the insurgency can get new recruits is that our vacillation gives them hope. New terrorists are recruited because they realize that any month now, the naive Liberals will start cutting funding for the American troops.
So, when Liberals accuse Conservatives of stupidity, it is like the pot calling the kettle black.
It's absolutely inexplicable. How can Liberals be so stupid?
Regarding the elusive "Liberal tolerance", that's hard to find. In my experience, Liberals are the most intolerant people if you dont agree with their perspective. To them, anything that they don't agree with is heresy.
It reminds me of Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders (rock group) who once chided people for eating meat. She said it was terrible to slaughter animals, so consequently she'd like to kill anyone who ate meat.
(that is the Liberal mind.....)

The word tolerance is defined, insofar as I know, as "Permissible degree of variation from a pre-set standard." Basically, allowing someone or something to be different, and not discriminated against. There is nothing intolerant in calling an idea of set of ideas 'stupid' (there is some degree of intolerance in calling a =person= stupid, but since so few people actually do this, and those that do are equally divided along the political spectrum, I hardly think it's relevant). It may be childish and immature, but it would be a pretty far stretch to call it intolerant. Remember, you have every right to be protected from discrimination, you have no right to protection from being offended.

I would generally consider myself a person of left-leaning persuasion (especially with regard to social issues), but I've rarely descended to the level of calling someone "stupid." I may find the occasional opinion stupid, but I know many highly intelligent conservatives whom I respect very much. Any argument reduced to snotty name-calling is unworthy of attention.

Well if you actually believe in the "tolerance" leftys speak in then you have to believe-in and stand for nothing. If you are tolerant about everything you have to believe-in and stand for nothing. They usually are not totally tolerant though. Tolerance usually just means that you have to support whatever they believe and whatever they don't believe is "intolerant".

I'm all for tolerance when it applies to things that people can't control. I.E. race or sexual preference.
But, if you are stupid, I feel no urge to be tolerant or accepting of you. And, if you ask stupid questions or post stupid answers, you are going to be called stupid.
If you can't understand that, then you sir, are stupid!
