It's a holiday that makes me think and remember all of the courageous men and women who have given their lives to protect our country. I am a veteran of the Gulf War and it brings back those memories and I think of my friends that were killed and am thankful I made it home alive. My wife and I both grew up in military families so it has always been a part of our lives. I think of my Grandfather and her Father who both fought in WW2 and the Korean war. I also pray for those who are fighting the war today in Iraq and think of their families and what they are going through today. We should all stop and give thanks for those who have kept our country safe.

A little bit. My grandpa died 2years ago and he was a WW2 vet. They played taps at his funeral. Now I can't listen to taps without crying. We were very close. Memorial day reminds me of him.
