Mangrove Swamp, North Queensland. It didn't smell or look very nice but there was heaps of adventure. Crocodiles disguised as foot stones across a sandy lake. Sand flies that immediately recognised us as long lost hosts. That was endearing. On solid ground we discovered how fast we could run when pursued by cassowaries that have a kick worse than a mule. I still call Australia, home.

Have to say Blackpool - which is why I can only go every few years - perhaps for a total check on having a good time - but as the day draws to a close the tackiness creeps up on me and I am always pleased to get home.

One Christmas morning we came home from spending time with family. It was well after mid-night on a very cold snowy night in Wisconsin. We had been in Chicago for a couple days...But went home to have the girls open their gift at home that Christmas morning. When we got there...We found our water pipes in our Mobile home had frozen.......Coffee left in the mug....was solid.......My husband had to go under the house to fix the problem. Our furnace pilot had blown out while we were our of town. The girls were little, and we had a fun time drinking hot chocolate to warm up and opening our presants with our mittens on......Till finally the house warmed up. But it was different and a fun holiday through it all....

Well we used to live *literally* 2 miles away from a lake. So one time my mom decided she wanted to go camping at the lake. We slept out there and came home to take showers. It was hilarious.
