discovered an ancient anthill, seems almost fossilised. No more activity, but definite looks like all the canals are now solid rock! Any explanations? from Nature sciences enthusiast.

It might not be fossilized as much as the soil has just hardened...... but you never know. If you can move it, take it to your nearest college's paleo or geo department.

I would contact a museum. Something like this is VERY rare.
My cousin once found a fossil sea horse. The museum said it was the first one found to show that sea horses lived millions of years ago.
