discouraged when your efforts aren't appreciated?

Not as long as my efforts bore fruit, If they are for naught , I am discouraged. We all have an ego and yes , Just like everyone else, I would love to be recognized for it.
Most of the things that I have done in life have been without personal reward. That I can shrug off but when they don't work , I'm a mess.

My efforts are never appreciated around here. I guess I get used to it, but it would be nice sometimes if someone cared.
