Snap On is their signature brand, the top of the line. Blue Point is the next stage down for quality. Still a good tool. Its like a Lincoln and Ford or a Michelob and Budweiser...you get the idea.

lol, in my case, I buy Snap-On because I might not be a very good Professional mechanic, but I at least look like one! Seriously, I find a big difference between Evercraft and Snap-On. Snap-On lasts a lot longer, in my opinion, and are better suited for a mechanic because of feel and performance. Plus, they have Snap-On exclusive characteristics: the wrench set has teeth on the open end that grab the bolt and dig in...teeth that have saved me many times by breaking loose bolts that other regular wrenches have stripped. So basically, in my opinion, if your tools make your living, you want the absolute best, which for me is Snap-On...but if you are just a backyard mechanic wrenching on your car on weekends, Craftsman is great! Hope that helped a little!

Snap-On and Blue Point are "Premium" sockets.

They are sold as higher quality sockets and carry a lifetime replacement warranty.

They also carry a premium price tag.

However, there are many other companies, like CRAFTSMAN (Sears) and EVERCRAFT (Napa) that do not carry te premium price tag and still have a lifetime replacement.

Some folks just like to keep all the same BRAND of tools in their sets no matter what.
