What takes spray paint off the easiest? Anything other than paint thinner?

acetone, the same thing that is in nail polish remover might work. even the safety kind that is something else might work.

a commercial product that will strip paint off safely is called Saf-T-Strip. It will remove all the paint, so if you want to keep a base coat, this will not work. The beauty of this stripper is that so long as it is still wet, it will work. you can even put the scraped off paint and stripper on another part and it will still remove the paint. no harmful vapors, no smell, and won't even harm your hands if you get some on them. great stuff, works well, very easy to use.

Depending on the surface and material.

If the surface is rough and you do not care whether the surface will change or stuff like this, using a sand paper is faster. This is a good option if you're working on wood.

I remember my mum using something to remove paint from the tile using some lime juice and vinegar... I'm not really sure:)

Use steam and a tooth brush.if you can get a chip out of it then goahead and just use a razor blade.

for "latex" denatured alcohol or lacquer will work.
