The stamp act was a tax on tea imported by the colonies. It was just one more tyrannical act of the British, and it led to the Boston Tea Party and to the slogan, "Taxation without representation is tyranny," one of the batlecries of the American Revolution.

it told the colonsits that they could only use a certain paper for official paper documents. Because this paper could only be purchased form england, the colonsits got mad because they did not want to be dependant on England.
