The speaker in the helmet goes off with 15 seconds left on the play clock.

If I'm correct, there's a small speaker in the quaterback's helmet, allowing them to hear the coach's plays. However, he can hear the coach only a little while before the ball in snapped.

you have until 15 seconds on the play clock then the speaker has an auto shutoff
