I think the main body of evidence lies in the fact that there needs to be a massive graviational force that keeps our galaxy from flying apart, and why it rotates around a central point. The only viable explanation would be a black hole

If the Center of the galaxy would conatin a massive black hole it would have a very low density becaus as mass of black hole increase their density would be extremely low.
If the Big Bang theory of a singularity containing the whole mass of the Universe is true, then there could be a residual black hole at the center of the Universe.

There is a 'high energy' object in the center of our Galaxy that is most probably a massive Black Hole. We have no other explanation for the energy we see radiating from there. There are most probably many other black holes in the galaxy. 'Millions' sounds a bit extreme as an estimate of the number.

The milkyway is orbiting what would appear to be empty space.
As we know, planets, moons and stars orbit other larger objects. Being that we can't see it means it can be one of two things:
A black hole
A large neutron star.
Both of which have massive gravities.
A neutron star is easier to find though, because while it isn't visible, it gives of copious amounts of radiowaves and microwaves in pulses.
A black hole on the other hand is found by a curious circle of bent light around its event horizon.
We can also use the gravity and spped of the surrounding stars to give us an idea of the scale of the gravity the entity has, so as to give us a good picture of what it is most likely to be.
All evidence points to a blackhole.
But not just a black hole, and enormous one called a super-blackhole.
Imaginative isn't it?
None the less, these few factors are only attributed to blackholes, so thats how we know what it is.

There is matter that is being distorted by a force in the galaxy-not just in the center-in many places. When we observe these places, we see that they are usurping matter. You can not see a black hole, but you can detect its presence. Anything after the event horizon is sucked in. Some theorists say that there is actually a micro-black hole on earth. It's in the Bermuda Triangle. Look it up.

It is not a black hole. But they its a gigantic force that is pulling everything together but no one knows what it is but it can be ablack hole.
