I have heard good things about MacBooks, Dell, Sony, and HP, but can't decide which one to choose. Which one has the best programs for a small business and which one is the most reliable? I'm planning on buying memory cards to store information on, so memory is not a problem, but I want it to have its own internet access (not wireless) and plug ins for printers and scanners.

Any new laptop you buy will have the features you are looking for. The differences are mostly aesthetic among PCs these days. I'd recommend any of the brands you have listed in your question except for Dell. My job right now is tech support, and 90% of the laptops that come in broken are Dells. This is completely disproportionate to the percentage of people who own Dells, so I have to assume they are just unreliable. If you are a more novice computer user, go to an Apple store and test drive a MacBook. I've been more and more impressed with them lately, and they don't suffer from some of the same software issues that plague PCs. Good luck!

I can't believe no one mentioned Sony Vaio. Okay soap box time. Sony Vaio is one of the best computers because the japanese do not allow many engineering mistakes. Look at Toyota, Honda, and other Japanese company that has come to america and sold products. Every company has had a higher quality level than made in America does. Secondly, read the laptop questions. There are very few that complain about a Vaio problem. Thirdly, I own one and will never buy a dell or HP again. IMO a Vaio is on the same level that a Mac is on. The top! I digress Have a great day.

I would suggest to purchase a Dell computer. They are often the most reliable and they have the best customer service if you ever have any problems, as well as being largely affordable. If you are looking for something much more high-end, Toshiba's are very good. Avoid Sony and HP if possible.

BEST Alienware, voodoo, xps and falcoln. Best VALUE dell, followed by leveno, hp, compaq and toshiba. All notebooks have wifi now and all have usb, most have firewire. If you can wait, all retailers will be doing a price war in july. If you need one today, the dell 6400 is the best bang for the buck

I agree with going with Hp I had a dell and I had problems and they sucked at customer service , I have never had problems with my hp lap top or desk top , but all in all it depends on money you want to spend , like the one said alieware is great but damn , it all depends on what your doing with it i suppose ,but i also agree with the one who said dont get dell
