The Red Sox are "good" for a number of reasons:
Starting Pitching:
Schilling is good, although is last starts haven't been great (he has a 5. 71 ERA in his last 3). Matsuzaka is starting to come around. If Beckett can come back from the DL and still pitch as brilliant as he was before, it'll make our rotation that much better. Wakefield started out great, but we all know he's just another pitcher and Tavarez is inconsistent. Luckily, we have a great offense...
Offense:
Papi and Manny are always good for 30+ homeruns and 100+RBIs. Lugo and Crisp may have low average's but their speed helps us get runners in scoring postion. Drew is slumping (surprise) but hopefully he'll come around. And Mike Lowell is just having a career year! You can't forget Youkilis, who is just hammering the ball (19-game hit streak!).
Bullpen:
The bullpen can be shaky, but Okhijima, Donnelly, and Papelbon have been stellar this year.
Bench:
Our bench is pretty solid, too. Cora, as we know, we can always count on. Pena isn't that good at fielding, but do you recall that 8th inning grand slam against the Orioles? When he hits the ball, he just kills it!

They are good because they have great teamwork. Like they say, there is no i in team. Also, they have great power especially, David Ortiz. They have fast and daring outfielders just waiting for the ball to come to them. They have a wonderful group of pitchers for example: Schillings & Wakefield. Also, when they do lose they don't throw a fit and get all worried. That is what makes them the best team. Also, that is why they are so good.

They are a team this year.
The team concept works and works well.
They also know how to smash the opponent.
They will continue to do well as the team is more important than the individual.
may I have a BA

Actually, they aren't doing as well as they could as a team, but they are still in first by about 11 games. Can you imagine what will happen when they DO start to do their stuff?
Plus, they aren't the Yanks

Their hearts are pure, giving them the strength of ten.
Even the best steroid therapies only boost one up to the strength of six.
