...although director Francis Ford Coppola's breathtaking film takes great liberties, when compared to Bram Stoker's classic novel, and the ghastly, macabre scenarios within, it garnishes a good number of points in my list of favorite vampire films, since it touches upon, and melds certain historical truths, regarding the actual, true-life historical figure, from which the vampire Count is based upon, namely Vlad Tepes, the Impaler; if someone would tackle THAT story, it would make for a most dynamic and powerful film.

...I'd even be open to a feature-film extension of the Director's Ford's prologue sequence, regarding Vlad Tepes dark and abysmal journey into blackness and horror, as he denounces God & the religious soothsayers, and embraces the satanic powers of darkness, as the result of his beloved wife's suicide, and becomes the loathsome, bloodthirsty literary creature of lore.

....ohhhhhh, the blood would pour!!!!!!

I loved it. I don't know if it's the best Dracula movie - there are so many that are great - but it's my favorite for sure. Gary Oldman is an acting wizard. And this Dracula IS the sexiest, bar none.

Love Never Dies.
