www.triciaswaterdragon.com is the BEST site for water dragon care. They are not easy, but are wonderful lizards. They need very specific heat, light and food sources. They need very tall housing, which you'll have to build as it grows.

Finding a care sheet online is the best here are a couple of my favorite care sites. http://www.triciaswaterdragon.com/
http://www.repticzone.com/caresheets/1270.html
I think you should try obtaining a book on them. We did 3 months of research before getting ours. He is 1 yr old and has an enclosure of 42 Hx41 Wx19 D inches They need tall enclosures (not like a regular fish tank) because they love to climb. check out the repticzone site. Its really cool.

Temperature needs to be mid to upper 70s most people keep them to warm which isnt good. They need a basking spot around 90 degrees
Humidity 65-70% if you make it to high they can get blisters starting on their stomachs and worsen all over so keep a good eye on him.

Any thing else feel free to email me... its on my profile.

you will need at least a 75 gallon tank for them when there adults . you need tank ,screen top, clamps for screen top, under tank heaters, thermostat, water & food bowl check your kitchen for them to save some money, thermostat , hygrometer, tropical bedding. something to hide in a small shoe box will work, they like to climb so sticks or something if you get them out of the yard clean them with bleach and watter then rinse off real good and let dry,and they eat crickets, fruits mixed vegies, they will need calsium ,vitamin d3 once a week too. keep them in the mid 80's( f )at all times with 60-70 percent hummidity

Pet store should be able to tell you everything you will need - including a book that tells you how to take care of it. I know they need humidity to be kept pretty high and they need to be warm. Ours ate crickets and veggies.

Ok here we go: get a aquairum like for fish but as big as you can afford...and get some kind of dish to put it in for water If you go to the pet store they have set ups for waterdragons. you have to make sure they have water to lay in, they have to have it everyday...I use a casserole dish for my guy,...he can really get in it all the way... I have sand in the bottom of my aquarium, dont use bark-some tree branches...to eat they love crickets but they must be small...dont give them big, they eat them but they cant break them down in their stomachs and will litrally starve to death...you can go to the pet store and get crickets tell them you want one or two-week olds- no bigger, dont feed them too many, depending on size 5 to 10 small ones for my guy and he is about 14 inches long now..you can get some cricket dust and dust the crickets at least twice a week when you give it to him but not all the time..it kills the crickets within minutes..but the vitamin dust gives him his calcium....dont put to many crickets...the crickets will eat their toes off if you have to many...I also put food in for the crickets like half an apple, that way they dont bother the lizard if I accidently put to many...they also like mealworms which you get in a small dish and keep them in the fridge till you want to use them...when they warm up they move and that when the dragon will go for them..a WD has to have one regular heat light and a uv light like the curley ones you get nowdays...they have to have a uv to get the vitamins they need..., my boy is very lovable and rides on my sholder at times...I have a leash for him and let him run around...two things to know...keep a mesh screen on the top of the aquarium ...dont let tiny fruit flys near them..they will kill them...and also they poop in there water and it needs to be changed at least twice a week...they grow to be around 3 to 4 feet long and if you handle them when they are young they usually are very loving...I turn my light on in the morn and off at sunset..like outside nature....they are tree dwellers, so get a branch off a tree that is thick enough to have his body lay on it and I have some fake leaves to make it bushy in the tank...he tore up every plant I put in there...they dont like small spaces they need to exercise...they will hit the glass at night when they think it is dark and damage their face so keep the lights off at night...when they are sick they turn black I also let mine take baths, in luke warm NOT hot or semi hot water and a folded bathtowel in the tub and fill it about 1/4 full...let him swim...they come from the rivers of viet nam and like humid hot river weather...as he gets bigger he will eat small goldfish and dont worry if he sheds...he will shed everytime he grows some...they dont like their tails played with and the tail will come off if you try to catch him by it...and dont play with any bones outside the skin such as their spine...it is tender...well I think that about does it...you can go to petsmart and look them up and it gives you more info on them...I love my macha...he is a kick...they are alot of work but worth it...enjoy
