the idea that men are naturally polygamous makes perfect sense:
back when survival was the key thing for humanity, one of the most important steps in that survival was to ensure the continuation of the human race. Obviously, at that time, surviving until adulthood was a hit or miss proposition; you couldn't guarantee any of your children would make it. So you had to have as many kids as possible with as varied a gene pool as possible just to make sure some would make it. In other words, natural selection.
To that end, no amount of civilization/culture/society can take away our hardwired evolutionary instinct to make sure our genes are passed on, so we still want to be polygamous to ensure that it happens. Culture has made us monogamous and medicine has made it so we don't need 30 kids anymore, but the instinct remains.

I don't think it's a pre-requisite for a man to be unfaithful, in as much as it's not genetically ingrained into the y chromosome, hence they can't help it.
I do think, however, that the fact that biologically they literally haven't got enough blood to use both their brain and todger at the same time plays a part, lol.
No, seriously though, men are no more pre-programmed to cheat than women are.
If you want to cheat, be you male or female, you will and all the excuses in the world won't change the fact that they're just that-excuses!

in the same way the christian bible has been watered down & had bits added, the koran has fallen victim to the same thing.
as there's no reason other than greed for a man to want more than one wife. ( why would any man want more than one mother-in-law? they must be mad! )
in the past women in muslim countries often out-numbered men.
the men saw a benefit they could play on.
an arab friend explained to me, the first wife was normally married for status, the second for money & the last for love.
then they just got plain greedy & wanted even more wives, as a statement of wealth.
when nowhere in the koran does it state a man will have more than one wife.
a man can remain faithful but i suppose only if they want too!
many animals of the world do indeed mate for life, so why humans have to be different, is beyond me.

1.- lionesses hunt for food, lions don't, if a lioness had to feed two or three males she would surely starve, lions live in African Savannah an we live in social systems were food can be achieved by both man or woman.
2.- if we think of ancient civilizations (nearer to our animal selves) and pretty earlier before we were "contaminated" with culture and complex social structures, the majority of them were matriarchal, and I doubt that "exclusive male polygamy" existed...
3.-wolves are monogamous and they are also pretty cool

When men say that it's just an excuse for why it's okay for them to be unfaithful and not for a woman to be unfaithful. Personally I think both men and women have got issues with monogamy, they both cheat on each other in relationships.

I agree with the muslim man. I also don't think marriage is natural. I can't imagine anything worse than spending decades with the same person, knowing them so well you know exactly how and what they will say or do in any given situation. How boring!

It';s our natrure to be totally out of interity and if ewe are smart, try to get on course and make sure we don;t hurt oursleves or others. Cheating on a partner, though it may seem natural, breaks trust apart. Terrible.

No, it is not in our 'nature'.
It is a decision made by an intelligent creature who can and should know better. We are not animals and cannot use that as an excuse.
