I have a GM Goodwrench crate engine block 2 piece rear main seal, that has been prepped for a 383 and I needed to know if anyone could tell me about what this block would be worth. It is a 4 bolt main, bored 0.030, stroker clearanced, new cam bearings, new freeze plugs, magnafluxed, baked. It's basically brought back to almost new condition. The reason I am asking is that I have had a lot of people want to buy it from me, but I don't know a price to sell it for. I need to sell it that's why I was wondering. Please post what you think I should sell it for. If you need anymore info on the block just ask. Thanks

The reason I say 383 is because it is clearanced for a crank and pistons for a 383. But it is indeed just a 5.7 Liter bored.030 = 355 cubic inches. but why not go 383

It is just the block, completely prepped, unpainted, cleaned, with all main caps. The machine shop work totalled around $800.

I am assuming it's a bare block, not a built short block, it's probably about $200.00, they are pretty cheap through places like Summit racing as a short block 383, so that's probably about top dollar. this is the most common chevy stroker motor.

Those are expensive motors to get machined try around the $1000-750 mark see if anyone bites then start dropping the price.
It sounds like a good motor if it runs now and new would cost $4000 + dollars. Just don't let it go too cheap. If someone really wants the motor they won't walk if you ask a little too much. They will be willing to negotiate to get it

The block alone, may not be much, maybe $500. The link is Summit Racing and this a Crate Engine for $4,500 USD.

Since a "383 block" is nothing more than a bored over 350 block, I wouldn't pay much more than $650.

Well figure about $125 for the block alone and then add what the machine work cost plus the parts.

your best bet is to go to ....craigslist.com..click on your state and city..then click on auto parts.........then type in 383 motors........they have a lot of engs for sale, and you will get an ideal of what your eng will bring.............the year of your block will be the factor of price...........i would say around 700.

good luck
