Cats for the following reasons...
I don't have to walk them, they (for the most part, unless they are sick) excrete in the litterbox, which is cleaned once a week, they are soft and small, they can cuddle in your lap, they amuse me when they run around and fight each other, they follow me around all the time because they love me so much, they eat the insects in the house, they make me feel better when I'm sad, and I know they will always love me.
The same could be said about dog lovers with dogs too, except not all of them are small, but different pets are for different people and personalities, so yeah.

Dolphins and whales I love more than all the other animals.
In the land bound ones, I love tigers, leopards, lions, panthers, pumas etc.
I am not a fan of regular cats, though. How about that? I am actually a dog person.

Rabbit.
It is an icon for Easter.
I enjoy Philip Roths' "Rabbit Redux" series.
Rabbit is a wonderful pet.
It provides good companionship in the backyard.

Cats, specifically my cats, who love me madly. All cats are pretty cool, most dogs are OK, dolphins are fine too.
